Motherhood; Spending Quality Time With Your Kids 10

When we are overwhelmed and overworked, it is difficult to recall the value of spending quality time with our kids. But when we do, when we truly can put everything else aside and give our child our undivided attention. When we enter into their world of play or song or imagination or nature or their big stories of excitement, imagination, curiosity, awe, and wonder; we remember what they need, we deepen our bond with our children.

In my previous piece, we began the discussion on the signs that indicate we are not spending enough time with our children. We discussed that spending quality time with our kids entails giving them our undivided attention during the time we carve out for them.

When we give our full undivided attention and attention to our children, we can often really feel what they are feeling, we develop deeper empathy for their feelings, and we can share their excitement, imagination, and fear. As our children experience our full attention, they draw from us whatever they need to learn, strengthen, grow, and even heal and develop their full potential.

The following signs show that you are not spending quality time with kids;

1)When your child suffers from low self-esteem.

Spending quality time with your kids makes them feel appreciated. Such kids develop a better sense of self-worth. The love language of all children is quality time. Furthermore, your children’s self-esteem will grow when they experience your affection through spending quality time with them.

2)Frequent quarrels and rivalry among your kids

Spending quality time with your kids bonds them together. As they spend time together, they tend to know and understand themselves. They also learn how to get along with one another.

Spending quality time with our kids is the key to uniting children together.
