Teenage years are a time of significant change in the physical, psychological, and emotional states of human development between childhood and adulthood, according to a study. It is a stage of development.

Teenagers also experience psychological, emotional, and social changes at this stage. As teenagers, due to the transition between who they were as children and the adult, they want to be, they start to experience conflicting emotions. They suffer a drastic change in mood as well as a rise in self-awareness and oversensitivity.

Why do adolescents rebel against their parents and other higher authorities?

1) They desire independence and power. Therefore, they become angry and rebel against those in positions of control, when they feel opposed.
2) They want to be in charge of their own lives and be able to make decisions for themselves. When their parents are strict or challenge their capacity to make decisions, they become angry and rebel.
3) When they feel like strongly expressing their opinions is necessary, they rebel.
4) They rebel as well to attract attention.
