The Silent Battles We Fight as Mothers
There are certain times in every mother’s life when the weight feels unbearable—but we carry it anyway. Not because it’s light or easy to bear, but because without us, there are goals in the home that may be difficult to achieve. And so, we love—naturally and deeply—and that love gives us the strength to keep showing up.
A mother cooks, bathes the children, tidies up the house, shows up at work, helps with homework, and responds to midnight cries—no matter the cost.
Even after spending sleepless nights praying over a sick child or fighting silent battles on her knees for her family, she still shows up to care for everyone in the home.
What about those moments of silent tears when you’re overwhelmed but don’t want to alarm anyone? Or those moments of doubt—when you wonder if you’re doing anything right, when you worry about a child’s performance at school, their behavior, or even about your husband? Yet, as a mother, you wipe your tears, pull yourself together, and keep going—keep showing up with love—because motherhood is a divine calling, and our roles at home are indispensable.
My fellow mothers, please listen: the world may not clap for you. You may not receive an award or be called a hero. But hear this—you are wonderful and you are doing great. God sees all you do for His glory. He sees every tear cried in the dark, every selfless act, every time you choose love when frustration would be easier.
Be reminded: you are not weak because you break down—you are strong because you rise again. You’re not failing because you feel weary—you’re faithful because you keep showing up. You are not a loser or a failure just because a child is struggling or things at home aren’t going as expected. Keep talking to God about it. He will settle it in His appointed time.
Don’t compare yourself or your home with another’s. Don’t look down on yourself or feel invisible because you’re not often appreciated. And if the weight becomes too overwhelming, please speak to someone you trust—someone who fears God and can truly help.
Stay positive. Rest when needed. Take care of yourself, and don’t forget to find joy along the way.
You are not invisible. God sees all you do and will reward you. Your love and sacrifices are seeds—and one day, they will bear fruit.
Hebrews 6: 10 — God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them.
What do you do when your heart is heavy with worry over your child? Kindly share.
