Motherhood; The Hidden Strengths of Mothers (2)

Waking Up Tired and Still Showing Up

God created women with a unique inner strength. This strength, coupled with a natural ability to love, enables a mother to persist despite all odds. This is why, even when a mother wakes up exhausted—perhaps after a long, demanding day or a sleepless night—she still rises.

Some mornings, you open your eyes already worn out. Not just from lack of sleep, but from caring for a child with a fever through the night, spending hours praying for your family, or wrestling with your own thoughts. And yet, when morning comes, despite the fatigue, like always—you rise.

You prepare breakfast, do the dishes, get the children ready for school, and drop them off. You get through a hundred little things that demand your attention and energy—even when you’re running on empty.

And you do it not because you have superpowers, but because your love for your family is deep and strong. Instead of letting your husband and children eat just anything outside—meals that might be unhygienic or junk—you still show up to care for them, even when tired.

That is real strength—the kind the world rarely applauds but heaven surely records. The strength to keep loving, serving, and nurturing when your tank is low. The strength to choose patience when frustration would be easier. The strength to be fully present, even when you’re exhausted.

It’s okay to feel tired. You’re not weak—you’re human. Even Jesus took time to rest. So, please take the time to breathe, recharge, and refill. Rest when your body calls for it; you don’t need to feel guilty. Your health matters, and your family needs you alive and well. Many women are battling stress-related illnesses—some have even died prematurely—all because they didn’t rest. Don’t hesitate to ask for help from a trusted friend or family member when needed. You were never meant to carry it all alone.

Motherhood isn’t about doing everything perfectly—it’s about caring and nurturing with love and understanding. It’s about being patient, staying strong, and leaning on God’s love, wisdom, and strength for all you do.

So mama, please rest when necessary. And don’t feel guilty.

To all mothers out there, even when you’re running on empty, be strengthened by the knowledge and assurance that God’s grace is sufficient for you.

Matthew 11:28 — Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

How do you manage those days when you’re exhausted, but the chores still need your attention? Kindly share.
