Motherhood: when you feel unseen and Unappreciated As A Mother 6

Hello Great Mothers!

Mothers play critical roles at home. A mother’s responsibilities at home are time-consuming, energy-consuming, and resource-intensive. And these responsibilities have far-reaching consequences for everyone in the household.

A mother is the family’s rock. She keeps the house together. She looks after everyone in the house and makes sure they are happy. In the midst of all of this, she longs to be cared for. She has needs that she cannot meet, primarily because she cares for her loved ones. However, she expects her loved ones to assist her in meeting these needs. Yet she often feels neglected.

However, she frequently feels neglected because no one in the family notices that she also requires care or has needs. Or she was expected to be able to take care of her own needs, after all, she takes care of others. This makes a mother feel invisible and unappreciated. So much has been said in my previous article about what we can do as mothers when we feel this way.

When mothers feel this way, we must take the steps discussed in my previous articles. This is because leaving it unattended can hurt both us and the home. Check out how such emotions affect us in the video below.

It Impacts Your Self-Esteem and Self-Worth

Being appreciated makes you feel important and recognized. A woman feels inadequate and undervalued when she is not appreciated. This causes her to doubt her abilities, usefulness in the home, and value. This alters her perception of herself. This can set off a chain of emotional and behavioral changes. This could put a strain on her relationship with her husband and children. This may eventually have an impact on peace at home.
