My Incantations In Movies Affected Me In Real Life – Adewale Alebiosu

Adewale Alebiosu, a popular Babalawo or Ife priest character in Yoruba films, revealed that reciting some spells in the film had a negative effect on him in real life.

Alebiosu told BBC Yoruba during interview that he only works as an actor and he doesn’t know that the spells he casts can hurt him in his real life.

“I had no idea that the spell I cast contained so much,” said Alebiosu. After delivering my lines, when I get home, strange creatures appeared while I am sleeping, some of them turned into goats and starts biting me.”

Alebiosu warned that the next generation who want to play the role of Babalawo must be very alert and ready to pray. According to him, the role requires all kinds of precautions.

“This is to warn you not to regret your life or come to an unhappy end,” he said.
