Ned Nwoko: Court Overturns Jaruma’s Bail, Orders Her Re-arrest To Correction Centre

The bail granted to popular aphrodisiac seller Hauwa Saidu, also known as Jaruma, has been overturned by the Abuja Upper Area Court in Zuba.

Jaruma is charged with “defamation of character, criminal intimidation, injurious falsehood, and publishing falsehood to incite public hatred against Regina Daniels’ husband, Prince Ned Nwoko.” After four days in custody, she was released on bail on January 28.

Barrister Ismail Abdullahi Jibrin, the presiding judge, overturned her bail and ordered her to be detained after she and her lawyer failed to appear in court today and refused to send a representative.

The judge ruled that Jaruma be detained at the Suleja Correctional Centre until the new adjourned date of March 17, 2022.

The judge had previously dismissed the case because none of Jaruma’s lawyers had appeared in court. A lawyer in the courtroom then pleaded with the judge to be patient, saying that Jaruma and her attorneys might show up later.
