Yobe State University has a new Vice-Chancellor and Registrar, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s pursuit of academic excellence. Professor Mohammed Bashir Tahir, a renowned Professor of General Surgery and Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons, has been appointed as the substantive Vice-Chancellor, while Mallam Isa Audu Dallari, currently Director of Administration, takes on the role of Registrar.
The appointments, approved by Governor Mai Mala Buni, follow recommendations by the University’s Governing Council and Selection Committee, in line with the Yobe State University Law, 2006 (as amended). Professor Tahir brings extensive experience as Medical Director of the Ultra-Modern Police Hospital, Damaturu, while Dallari’s administrative expertise will support the university’s growth.
