Music legend Innocent Idibia, better known by his stage as 2Baba, who voiced confidence about the nation’s progress has said that Nigeria is doing better now than it was in the past,
While acknowledging that difficulties still exist, 2Baba emphasized that progress has been made in a recent interview with Wazobia TV.
When questioned about his political activity, 2Baba said he had previously backed a campaign in an impartial capacity and intended to keep making his own contribution to the development of the country.
“We are better off than many years ago. Just look at it,” 2Baba stated when the host, Yaw, pointed out that some of the issues he sang about in his classic song “E Be Like Say” years ago appear to be repeating in the current political climate.
The host had remarked, “Now we are back in that political season again, and the same issues are still happening.”
He further revealed his personal commitment to nation-building by declaring himself an unofficial ambassador for Nigeria.
“I have personally appointed myself as an ambassador of Nigeria… an ambassador everywhere. I am a self-appointed ambassador of Nigeria to everywhere.”
“It’s still ongoing, but I will continue doing it. I will set up my own position and try to make a difference. I’ll try to make it work because I know where I stand,” he added.
