Nigerian Man Laments After receiving Huge Illegal Parking Fine Higher Than Minimum Wage

After being given a N110,000 fine for parking his car in an “illegal” area, an Instagram user has come out to express his displeasure.

According to the man, he went out with his mechanic to get a battery hanger for his car, and when they arrived, he parked just in front of the shop.

The mechanic then went to get the battery hanger while he stayed in his car.

After the mechanic had returned, the man proceeded to drive away, only to be approached by officers who accused him of illegal parking.

He claimed they towed his car to their office while he was inside, denting his bumper in the process.

He said that he was fined N110,000 for illegal parking (eighty thousand naira fine plus thirty thousand naira tow penalty) and N2,000 for a gate fee that allowed him to drive his car out of the compound.

He added that he had to make several phone calls before the ticket was reduced to N25,000 and that the gate fee was still N2,000.
