Nigerian Muslims Angry After Saudi Arabia Opens First Alcohol Store

Muslims in Nigeria have taken to X to voice their indignation following the news that Saudi Arabia has established its first alcohol store in Riyadh.

Saudi Arabia, a Muslim nation, has always complied with the rule prohibiting the operation of alcohol stores in the nation, as alcohol usage is considered to be against Islamic teachings.

Nonetheless, the nation’s first liquor store debuted in Riyadh’s diplomatic district for the first time.

Nigerian Muslims on X have voiced their disapproval following its announcement on the platform.

“Disgraceful,” one Nigerian Muslim wrote on X. “They’re slowly turning Saudi Arabia into Las Vegas and it’s making me mad. At the rate they’re going, very soon they’ll legalize prostitution and same-sex marriage in our most sacred city.”

Another said: “It’s baffling and disgusting to see that Saudi Arabia has opened the first alcohol store in Riyadh.

“I wonder why the current crown prince is going against the teachings of the holy prophet by accommodating Western cultures in a country like Saudi Arabia where the two most holy mosques are situated.

“This is an insult to the religion of peace and the entire Muslim ummah. It’s disgraceful.”

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
