Niniola Opens Up About Unexpected Widowhood At 39

In a note regarding the death of her husband, longtime partner, and business manager, Michael Ndika, singer Niniola acknowledged that nothing could have prepared her for becoming a widow at the age of 39.

The 39-year-old shared the message on Instagram on Sunday, two months after his unexpected death, along with a picture of herself wearing a gown and headscarf.

She said:

“I wanted this to be a video,” she wrote. “But I tried and couldn’t go through with it, so I’m putting my thoughts down here instead. 🙏🏿❤️”

“Today marks 2 months since my Husband, my Business Manager and my best friend, Michael, was taken from me so suddenly and unexpectedly. And not just from me, but from all of us.

“I lost my Dad when I was young, but that didn’t prepare me for this. Becoming a young widow has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever faced. Some days are okay. Other days the pain is too much to even describe.

“What do I do now? Where do I even begin? There’s so much we didn’t get to finish. So much left unsaid. And feelings I can’t even put into words.”

“Even when all I had were hard questions and no immediate answers from Him, God keeps reminding me that He sees me. I’m grateful for that, and I’m holding on to Him to keep moving forward.”

“Thank you for all the love, prayers, kind words and messages. I don’t know how I’ll ever repay you, but please know I’m genuinely grateful,” she concluded.

Niniola, your strength and resilience through such an unimaginable loss are truly inspiring. Remember that it’s okay to grieve and to take all the time you need to heal. You are not alone in this journey—surround yourself with love, support, and compassion. As you move forward, hold onto the memories that bring you comfort and know that brighter days will come.

Your courage in sharing your story is a testament to your incredible spirit, and with time, healing, and love, you will find peace again.

Live with Purpose, Love with Passion. Remember to be happy
