No Joy: Nigeria Emerges 114th Happiest Country On The Planet Out Of 146

According to the World Happiness Report 2021, Nigeria is the 114th happiest country on the planet.

The “giant of Africa” was only 32 places ahead of Afghanistan, which was ranked 146th and at the bottom of the list, while Mauritius, in East Africa, was ranked 49th.

The research, which is marking its tenth anniversary, employed statistical research to select the world’s happiest countries. The report’s 2021 update found that Finland is the happiest country on the planet.

The analysis evaluated at Gallup polling data from 149 nations over the last three years, looking at GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom to make life decisions, general population generosity, and views of internal and external corruption levels.

Meanwhile, Nigeria Is behind Ivory Coast (83), Ghana (93), Cameroon (89), Senegal (90), Niger (94), Gambia (96), Benin (97), Guinea (100), and Burkina Faso (111), all of which are located in West Africa’s subcontinent.

Mali (115), Liberia (118), Chad (125), Mauritania (131), Togo (133), and Sierra Leone are all ahead of the country (135).

Finland is the happiest country in the world for the fifth year in a row, closely followed by its Nordic neighbors Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, and Iceland.

Finland received a 7.842 out of ten, Denmark a 7.620, Switzerland a 7.571, and Iceland a 7.554.

The Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Luxembourg, Austria, Israel, Germany, Canada, Ireland, Costa Rica, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, the United States, Belgium, and France are among the top 20 countries.
