Nollywood Actor Doesn’t Want To Return To Nigeria After Acquiring US Citizenship

Nollywood actor Osinachi Dike made it known that he would not be returning to his native country Nigeria, following his registration as an American citizen.

The actor and skit creator claimed that he would be leaving his wife and children in order to move to the US as he displayed his US passport on his Instagram account. Osinachi went on to say that he would be leaving the nation in order to find work abroad and support his family.

The Nollywood actor said; “Brethren help me thank God, it has not been an easy thing I would be leaving my family, my wife should take care of the children. I’ve tried, my wife should take care of my kids. I’ve tried so I need to leave, I need to go and make money, and I might not even come back, in fact, the truth is anywhere you see me in Owerri if you see me in Nigeria collect money from me because I’m no more around because I’m no more coming back. Let me go and enjoy myself.”

The actor made an analogy while holding both the Nigerian and US passports, suggesting that the US passport is like a visa to heaven. He said, “Just check the difference, see this one(American passport), this one is like a visa to heaven.”

The actor’s comments come at a time when the nation is struggling with problems including insecurity, a lack of fuel, unemployment, and money shortages, among others.

Meanwhile, Rauf Aregbesola, the interior minister, revealed that about 159 Nigerians renounced their nationality in 2022 during a media conference hosted by the Presidential Media Team on Thursday, January 27, 2023, in the State House, Abuja.

Surprisingly it’s only 159. Who wants to identify which continuous failure? Nigeria is a great country but is led by the wrong people. February 25 is a good chance to change that.
