North Korea To Execute People Caught Watching P*rnography

Anyone who watches p*rnographic material will be executed by Kim Jong Un’s new secret squads.

According to testimony from a defector contained in a recent article, enforcers are seeking to banish foreign television, haircuts, and even birthday parties as part of the North Korean dictator’s efforts to crack down on “foreign influences.”

The secret forces referred to as “gruppa” or “non-socialist groups,” are charged by Pyongyang with pursuing violations of the official ideology of the Communist Party.

According to reports, “The groups operate as a hidden tool, which is used by the government to achieve their ultimate objectives of ubiquitous surveillance and the ability to thoroughly oversee each and every resident.”

North Korea rigorously forbids access to outside media, especially anything regarded to be “Western.” Any dissension is punished harshly.

Kim Jong Un sees South Korea as an American puppet state and is extremely watchful of any South Korean media that enters China out of concern for the potential influence it may have.

For some time now, any indication that someone may have been watching media produced in the South has been met with harsh repercussions.

The Database Centre for North Korean Human Rights (NKDB), a Seoul-based organization, claims that Kim is tightening his hold on the gruppa even more.

People are being tried for anything from desertion, drug dealing, smuggling, and begging to miss work, traffic infractions, adultery, hair dyeing, religious activities, and engaging in “decadent culture,” which can include parties.

“It is worse than the Kim Jong Il era,” one testimony quoted in the report said. “The border has become tighter, and more barbed wire fences have been installed. Also, there were instructions to directly fire at any person crossing the border.

“[…] I’ve heard about people being shot for distributing impure cultural content. There was one person who was executed for watching p*rnography and prostituting at his place after Kim Jong Un took office.”

“First they check how you dress. Then what type of music you listen to, what videos you watch, whether you have dyed your hair […] You cannot have a birthday party as a group,” the defector said, according to the report.

“They keep saying not to have gatherings and drink alcohol because when people are drunk, they will end up singing one or two South Korean songs for sure.”

According to the report, the distribution and smuggling of South Korean media have captured the attention of the secret squads.

Occasionally, USB flash drives are used to smuggle in illegal music, movies, and television shows like “Squid Game” or “Crash Landing on You.”

One tactic employed by the secret squads is to turn off the electricity to people’s houses who are thought to be viewing prohibited media, preventing them from taking DVDs or videotapes out of the player and covering up their “guilt.”

The punishments might include being demoted at work, fired, or even incarcerated in a re-education or labour camp. In the most extreme situations, such as when it is discovered that a person has been viewing p*rnography, they may be shot by a firing squad.

“If you consume sexual media content in North Korea, you are either punished with a lifetime term of ‘reform through labour’ or even executed by firing squad. Watching typical South Korean or American material will lead to a sentence of fewer than ten years of ‘reform through labour,” according to another defector’s testimony.

Four students were reportedly dismissed from their university and made to work in a coal mine earlier this month because they used accents or words from the South, giving the impression that they had been binge-watching foreign television.
