Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), is currently in the United States, as he plans to engage the Nigerian diaspora with the aim of strengthening his chances in the 2023 presidential election.

This caught the attention of Nigerians as Atiku is reportedly wanted in the US over bribery and corruption charges.

However, rumours are circulating that the former Vice President allegedly travelled on the political immunity of Tambuwal, the director-general of the PDP presidential campaign.

This has caused Nigerians to react as Atiku, who is contesting to be the President of Nigeria, is barred from the US over corruption charges.

In Those Days Great Men Didn’t Have To Go To School”, Festus Keyamo Defends Tinubu (Video).

Festus Keyamo, the spokesman for the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, has voiced his opinions regarding the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, school certificate controversy.

Festus Keyamo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, claimed in an interview on Arise News Television that Tinubu attended Chicago State University and received honours equating to a First Class degree after graduating from the university.

When questioned about the primary and secondary schools that the former governor of Lagos State attended, Festus Keyamo responded that great men, like elder statesman Afe Babalola wrote his GCE exams from home in those days because not everyone went to the four walls of schools.

According to Keyamo, “In those days, you don’t have to go (to school), you don’t have to. They read and pass GCE from home, great men do. It was one of the virtues that you use to know great men.”

He also stated that his principal, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, did not reveal his primary and secondary schools to him.

Wike And Ayu’s Fight Continues, Wike blames Ayu Of Heavy Corruption And Ungratefulness.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and the PDP’s national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu have continued to be in disagreement which is costing the party its chances in the 2023 elections.

Ayu made a statement that he had the power prevent some gubernatorial candidates from running for office in 2023 which caused Gov Wike to react.

The Rivers State governor dared Ayu to try it, as the statement appears to have been directed towards the governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, who is running for re-election in the state and is a strong ally of Gov Wike.

Wike accused Ayu of being “ungrateful”, stating that Ortom is the reason why Ayu is the PDP national chairman.

He said, “I heard when he said he would have stopped Ortom from running. You see how ungrateful human beings are.

“This was the same Governor Ortom who pleaded with us, and said listen, ‘I can take this risk and let him (Ayu) become the national chairman.’ The governors agreed that no national chairman should come from where a governor comes from.

“We agreed on that. But Ortom came, and he is a man we respect, he said I want to promote my people. Let them be at the national politics and we said okay, in your honour we will agree.

“This is a man (Ayu) who never campaigned anywhere. This is a man who never bought a form or a poster. Even the money they gave him to print posters, he never printed any posters. Now he is saying he can stop the man who brought him, who became his guarantor.”

Gov Wike stated that Ayu doesn’t want to resign from the national chairman position because he wants to control the funds of the party, challenging Ayu to release a statement on how the N11 billion made from primaries was used.

The Rivers State governor said, “Why does he not want to resign? He is hoping that Nigerians will donate money to the party so he will superintendent over that money.

“He has already finished the one of N11 billion from the party’s primaries. Account for it, he says it is in the account. Show the public the account. Print out the statement of account of PDP and let the world see how the N11 billion was expended.

“And this is the party that all of us have laboured to take over power from the ruling party that we said has done badly. And then the national chairman will open his mouth to talk about stopping contestants.

“Ayu shouldn’t say so. He tried it in Rivers state. He came to manipulate and try to put some gubernatorial aspirants, but he saw the result. We dealt with him.”

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
