Oluebube Obio, a Nollywood actress, has claimed that she was coerced into going to an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign event because her safety could not be guaranteed.
In response to criticism regarding videos that showed her at the political event, the actress made the assertion.
Oluebube responded that there was more to her appearance than what was shown in the videos when some Nigerians asked why she had gone to the campaign.
She claimed on social media that she was being blackmailed and promised to expose the perpetrators when the time was appropriate.
Oluebube wrote: “I was actually forced to be in such settings, my life and safety is not guaranteed, if you watch the video closely, I myself felt so much discomfort and stressed up.
“When the time is right I will expose the people blackmailing me, the least you can do is to pray for me.”
It is perplexing and unjustifiable why anyone would seek to intimidate or coerce someone into actions against their own will. Respect for individual autonomy and freedom of choice should always be upheld. Using intimidation as a tool to manipulate others not only undermines personal dignity but also fosters an environment of fear and mistrust. Ultimately, genuine respect and understanding should guide our interactions, reminding us that no one should be forced to act against their conscience or desires.
