Journalist Benny Johnson posted the now-popular video on Twitter. The 8-second video shows Jill Biden approaching Doug Emhoff, the second man, to shake his hand.

Following a handshake, they engaged in an odd kiss on the lips. Jill then stood next to Emhoff. The others in the crowd around them didn’t seem to mind the odd display of devotion and kept on clapping.

In his State of the Union address on Tuesday (local time), Joe Biden claimed that despite disruptions from Covid-19 and Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, the American economy is “better positioned to thrive than any place on Earth.”

In an early display of bipartisanship, Biden greeted newly elected House Speaker Kevin McCarthy before making his speech.

The minority leader of the House and the first Black party leader in the House, Hakeem Jeffries, was also recognized by the president.

In regards to the viral video of Jill Biden and Harris’s husband kissing I think they probably went in for a friendly embrace in a photo-worthy moment, but it seems like one of them misjudged the distance and the result was a kiss on the lips, or very, very close to, the lips.
