Ondo Massacre: Owo Women Fight Spiritual, Perform Rituals Against Attackers (See Photos)

Following the massacre of parishioners at St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, the capital of Ondo State’s Owo Local Government Area, on Sunday, women of the town have stormed the streets to protest the incident.

The women who came out in large numbers to protest also hurled curses at the terrorists who carried out the shootings.

The women protested along major roads in the town, led by the Iyaloja of the Owo, Chief Mrs Iwaloye, who decried the brutal massacre and demanded the arrest of the gunmen as well as more protection for lives in the town.

During the demonstration, the ladies went to the town’s seven traditional sites, performing rituals and casting curses on the perpetrators.

The women also paid a visit to the Church where the parishioners were slaughtered to sympathize with the priest, emphasizing that those who desecrated God’s home would not go unpunished.

The Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye, urged his people not to vent their fury on innocent people while reassuring them that efforts had been taken to guarantee that the offenders were apprehended while speaking to the women at his palace.

The monarch also urged the women to protect their children from illicit activity and violence.
