Onyinyechi Basil Crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025

The Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 contest has named Onyinyechi Basil of Anambra State as the winner.

The grand finale was hosted by Anthony Abraham and Victory Wilson on Saturday at the Convention Center of Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The competition was reduced from the 22 competitors that were revealed on August 26 to the top 10 and finally the final five.

Miss Bayelsa, Miss Ogun, Miss Lagos, Miss Akwa Ibom, and Miss Anambra were among the top five competitors.

Onyinyechi Basil won the third round of the tournament by outperforming her fellow finalists.

Swimwear, traditional costume, evening dress, and the Q&A session were among the different categories in which she competed.

Chidimma Adetshina, the troubled Miss South Africa competitor, is her successor.

Lagos representative Damilola Bolarinde placed first runner-up, while Miss Ogun, Irene Ikediashi, and Bayelsa’s Fortune Kurobo came in second and third, respectively.

Additionally, Miss Supranational Nigeria 2025 was won by Idah Eno, Miss Akwa Ibom.

As the country’s new titleholder, Basil will represent Nigeria at the 74th Miss Universe pageant set for November 20 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Along with material presents, brand sponsorships, training opportunities, and paid appearances, she will also receive a monetary incentive.

Congratulations! More Wins!
