Osimhen, Moses Simon, Ekong Pass CAF’s Doping Tests

Victor Osimhen, Moses Simon, and William Troost-Ekong of the Super Eagles have passed the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) random anti-doping tests and will now face Angola in the quarter-finals on Friday.

The CAF selected Nigeria international striker Victor Osimhen, Super Eagles winger and defender Moses Simon, and William Troost-Ekong for random drug tests following their last group encounter and 2-0 Round of 16 victory against Cameroon.

Victor Osimhen was one of the standouts as the Super Eagles sailed beyond the group stage in their Round of 16 match against Cameroon.

According to reports, the Nigerian international underwent the test after his encounter against Guinea-Bissau.

Simon Moses, a winger for FC Nantes, and Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong were also drug tested.

The random tests are normal procedures, usually performed on players whose increased energy levels raise concerns of substance abuse.

Furthermore, sources stated that two Cameroonian athletes underwent comparable tests, indicating that Osimhen is not the only participant participating in the competition.

Meanwhile, Coach Peseiro’s team will meet Angola in the quarterfinals of the 2023 AFCON on Friday.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
