Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has inspected the Umuahia Central Bus Terminal, expressing satisfaction with the project’s progress as it nears completion. The terminal, designed to centralize transport activities, will feature a bus station, railway station, and parking facilities, making it a multimodal transport hub.

Otti emphasized that the project aims to address inefficiencies caused by scattered transport parks, citing global best practices like London’s Paddington Terminal, which integrates various modes of transportation and amenities. The terminal will include shopping plazas, cinemas, hotels, and playgrounds, making it a one-stop hub for commuters.
The Governor commended the contractors and consultants, stating that quality will not be compromised for speed. He expects the project to be substantially completed by the end of January. Similar projects are underway in Aba, with completion expected by May.

Otti also inspected ongoing road construction works, including the Ahiaeke-Okwuta-Bende Road, urging contractors to prioritize quality and complete the project before the rainy season.
