Paedophile Nanny Sentenced To 707 Years In Prison

A male paedophile nanny from California, United States, was sentenced to more than 700 years in jail.

Matthew Zakrzewski, 34, stated in court on Friday, November 17, that he “prided himself” on delivering smiles to the kids he sexually assaulted.

The Orange County District Attorney’s Office reported that Matthew Zakrzewski was found guilty of 34 felony counts, including lewd and lascivious actions with a kid under 14, for his horrific exploitation of children, which included assaulting 16 young boys in his care and displaying pornography to a 17th.

Zakrzewski perpetrated his heinous actions during three years, from January 2014 to May 2019. His juvenile victims ranged in age from two to twelve years old.

“I prided myself on bringing smiles to your children and all the good times we shared were 100 per cent genuine,” Zakrzewski said in front of Orange County Superior Court Judge Kimberly Menninger.

The paedophile got work through his website, referring to himself as “the original Sitter Buddy” and offering a variety of services such as babysitting, mentorships, and overnight and vacation babysitting.

Several of the abused children’s families referred to Zakrzewski as a “master manipulator” during victim impact statements.

“A death sentence is too good for him… Please show no mercy on this animal,” a grandmother of two of the victims said, according to ABC 7.

Other parents reported feeling guilty for hiring the “monster” to monitor their children.

“I will be dealing with guilt for the rest of my life for letting this animal in my life,” one mother said. “I hired a babysitter once in my life. Just once in my life.”

“He came to our home once a month for a year,” a mother whose 2-year-old son fell victim to Zakrzewski. “One of the first things he taught him was to keep secrets.”

The district attorney described the case as a violation of the 17 children’s innocence and childhoods.

“This is a case of shattered innocence and precious childhoods that were robbed from 17 little boys,” Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer said.

“These children will never know the people they were truly intended to be – because their childhoods were suddenly and inexplicably interrupted not by a wolf at the door, but by a predator masquerading as a godsend.”

He was found guilty of the 34 felony offences in October when he faced a maximum prison sentence of 690 years to life plus eight years.

Prosecutor Juliet Oliver disclosed in her closing arguments during the trial that Zakrzewski possessed an “entire book” on paedophilia on his computer and had videotaped most of the evidence used against him.

He was finally apprehended after one of the children’s parents reported him to police in early May 2019 for inappropriately touching her eight-year-old son and expressing concern for other children.

On May 17, 2019, he was arrested at a local airport after disembarking from an overseas flight.

Investigators solicited the public for help identifying more potential victims through video evidence and tips after initially charging Zakrzewski with five felonies. This resulted in the extra charges.
