Palestine Petitions UN, Requests Israel Vacates Its Occupied Territories

As part of an appeal to the UN, the State of Palestine demanded that Israel leave what it called “its territory” amid the ongoing conflict.

On October 8, the Palestinian militant organization Hamas launched an unexpected attack against Israel. There are currently over 1,500 confirmed deaths from the battle, and more deaths are possibly on the way.

In his remarks to a press conference on Tuesday in Abuja, Abdullahp Shawesh, the Palestinian ambassador to Nigeria, urged the UN to hold Israel to account for its occupation of Palestinian areas.

According to Shawesh, the conflict will come to an end only if the law is applied; otherwise, the Palestinians will continue to exercise what he claims to be their legal right to self-defense and liberation.

He claims that Israeli forces have kept bombing Gaza and have killed roughly a thousand Palestinians, including 140 children and 105 women. This includes attacking the third-oldest church in the world. He claimed that there are presently 123,000 internally displaced people and 4,100 injuries, with those numbers projected to climb.

However, the Palestinian ambassador stressed that they are not discouraged and are instead committed to stopping Israeli assault and occupation of their lands.

Michael Freeman, Israel’s ambassador to Nigeria, asserted on Monday that Iran was the driving force behind Hamas’ attack on Israel.

Iran, according to Freeman, is supporting the conflict to destabilize the area surrounding Israel.

We have serious concerns about it. We are aware that Iran is responsible for Hamas’s attacks. Iran is the country that granted consent. Hamas is financed by Iran. They are making every effort to destabilize the region, he remarked on Sunrise Daily on Channels Television.

“They are also backing Hezbollah and Lebanon; they are backing other terror groups in the West Bank. They are backing terror groups in Syria. Iran is doing everything because they don’t want to see progress. They don’t want to see peace, they want to see death and destruction,” he said.
