Officers from the Orlu Divisional Headquarters have detained a pastor and his associate for the alleged sexual assault of a 20-year-old woman.
According to a statement by DSP Henry Okoye, the command’s spokesperson, the suspects, Pastor Ikenna Emmanuel ‘m’, aged 32, from Umuobom, Ideato-South LGA, and leader of Authentic Power City Church, along with Franklin Chizoba ‘m’, enticed the victim to the pastor’s home on 30th June, 2025, under the guise of providing spiritual prayers for her.
Okoye explained that upon her arrival, the pastor allegedly offered her a drink. Soon after, she felt dizzy, and both suspects allegedly engaged in unlawful sexual intercourse with her.
‘’Following the report, operatives from Orlu Division promptly arrested the duo. During interrogation, both suspects confessed to the offence and further admitted to engaging in homosexual acts. They were subsequently charged to court on 12th August, 2025, and remanded at the Correctional Facility, Owerri, pending trial’ he wrote.
In a separate incident, officers from Orlu Division, on August 12, arrested one Ifeanyi Odinka, aged 39, from Amaifeke Orlu, for fatally stabbing his father, Denius Odinka ‘m’, aged 75, following a disagreement over money from a land sale.
Okoye noted that during questioning, the suspect admitted to the crime. He added that the murder suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Owerri, for further investigation and prosecution.
