Pastor William Kumuyi Urges Christians To Use Their Offering To Feed The Poor

The general overseer of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi has emphasized the importance of directing financial resources towards aiding the impoverished rather than solely contributing to church infrastructure.

Highlighting the biblical principle of caring for the less fortunate, Pastor Kumuyi encouraged Christians to extend their generosity beyond the confines of the church walls, reaching out to those in their communities who struggle to meet basic life necessities.

This call to action comes amidst ongoing scrutiny of the opulent lifestyles of some Nigerian pastors juxtaposed with the impoverished conditions endured by many of their congregants. Notably, controversial On-Air Personality (OAP), Daddy Freeze, has been vocal in his criticism of such disparities, citing biblical passages to support his stance against practices like tithing.

“While it is important to invest in the physical structures of our church,” Pastor Kumuyi remarked, “we must not turn a blind eye to the urgent needs of our neighbors who suffer from hunger and deprivation.”

He further proposed a balanced approach, suggesting that a portion of church funds be allocated towards charitable endeavors alongside the ongoing construction of facilities like the Deeper Life International Conference Centre (DLICC).

“We cannot in good conscience lavish funds on grandiose projects while members of our community languish in poverty,” Pastor Kumuyi stated. “It is incumbent upon us to prioritize the well-being of our brethren, both within and beyond the church.”

In advocating for a holistic approach to Christian stewardship, Pastor Kumuyi underscored the importance of identifying and assisting those in need, irrespective of their religious affiliation, thereby embodying the spirit of compassion and solidarity exemplified by Jesus Christ.

Far too many people in the world are hungry. Hunger is an epidemic that can easily be solved with resource distribution. The issue is that those who control the money, corporations and banks focus more on maintaining profits.

There is nothing greater than love invested in helping to feed the impoverished living in hunger.

Live with Purpose, Love with Passion. Remember to be happy

“A lot of companies have chosen to downsize, and maybe that was the right thing for them. We chose a different path. Our belief was that if we kept putting great products in front of customers, they would continue to open their wallets.”
