We Need Consistent Leaders; Not I Am Strong Today, I Am Confused Tomorrow Type Of Leader – Pastor Kumuyi

Pastor Williams Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has stated that leadership at all levels and in all endeavours must be courageous and persistent.

Pastor Kumuyi stated that the nation urgently needs leaders who would be steadfast at all times, rather than strong today and confused and weak tomorrow.

He said this during a ‘Ministers/Professionals Conference’ that was broadcast via satellite with the theme.

He said, “A leader who knows the right thing but lacks courage could succumb to doing the wrong thing by pressure from people surrounding him.”

Pastor Kumuyi’s message, which he based on Joshua 1:1–2, urged leaders to take inspiration from Moses and Joshua’s accomplishments in their various roles.

He urged them to avoid being like Aaron, who gave in to pressure and built an altar to a strange god when the people were about to stone him even though he knew it was against God’s will.

He said, “Every leader needs courage, not the wavering type that makes him oscillate between courage and nowhere.

“Courage every time with tenacity, in every situation, with the spirit of God abiding within you. You have gathered enough experience but some new things will happen that you have never seen before. Courage in leadership in things past, present and in future.

“You must be steadfast at all times, not strong today, weak and confused tomorrow. The road is always clear for the steadfast. Moses told Joshua in the presence of the people to be courageous. He knew what it meant to lead the mixed multitude. This was what Aaron lacked when in Moses’ absence, he succumbed to the people and raised an altar to a strange god for them when they were about to stone him. He knew the right but did the wrong because of a lack of courage.

“Whatever happens, familiar or otherwise, a courageous leader stands his ground. He must be strong in the heart, spirit, in the inner man, courage in the inner man, soul and spirit.”

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
