Police Arrest Bishop Who Claimed 7-Day S*x Will Heal 22-Year-Old Girl With Sickle Cell Anemia

The Ebonyi State Police Command has arrested Bishop Samuel Onyeagoziri, the head of the Champions of the Truth Church, following serious allegations of s*xual abuse brought forth by a 22-year-old female member of his congregation, Euphemia Ede.

Ede has accused Bishop Onyeagoziri of coercing her into a prolonged period of s*xual exploitation, all under the false guise of providing “divine healing” for her sickle cell anemia, a condition that has caused her significant health challenges throughout her life. Police spokesperson Joshua Ukandu confirmed that the bishop was taken into custody on Wednesday. He remains in detention as authorities conduct an in-depth investigation into the matter.

The troubling allegations surfaced after Ede appeared in a viral podcast and released videos detailing her experiences, where she accused the cleric of manipulation, threats, and continual abuse over the years. Ede recounted the heartbreaking loss of three siblings to complications related to sickle cell disease, which left her family desperate for any form of help. It was during this vulnerable time that her parents were introduced to Onyeagoziri, who promised a spiritual remedy to her genetic condition.

Instead of the healing he promised, Ede claims Bishop Onyeagoziri coerced her into engaging in s*xual relations with him for a duration of seven days, asserting that this would miraculously change her genotype from SS (sickle cell) to AA (normal). At the time, Ede was still in Senior Secondary School and lived in constant fear of succumbing to her illness at a young age. What began as a desperate attempt to alleviate her medical suffering quickly escalated into a cycle of abuse that persisted for several years. During this time, she endured not only physical exploitation but also emotional manipulation, fearing for her life and safety under his roof.

Ede further alleged that Onyeagoziri threatened her with a rifle during numerous instances of intimidation, forced her to pose for nude photographs, and disregarded her repeated requests to delete those images. He reportedly denied the allegations outright, going so far as to claim that the photographs were fabricated using artificial intelligence.

The gravity of these accusations has ignited public outrage, with citizens and human rights organizations calling loudly for justice in this matter. The police have assured the public of a thorough investigation, emphasizing their commitment to gathering all necessary evidence before proceeding with any legal actions against the bishop.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
