Police Arrest Man Trying To Sell A Dismembered P*nis In A Shopping Mall

Butterworth police in the Eastern Cape, South Africa have detained a suspect for illegally possessing a dismembered male body part and also trying to sell it in a shopping mall.

This past weekend, a lot of people posted the suspect’s arrest on social media.

After being taken into custody at the Fingoland Shopping Mall, the 32-year-old man was arraigned in the Butterworth Magistrate’s Court on accusations of unlawful possession of human organ on Monday.

According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli, the suspect was detained by members of the public after they allegedly discovered him in possession of a male body part on Thursday afternoon at a shopping center in Butterworth. It was thought that he was hunting for a buyer in Butterworth.

“Preliminary investigation has revealed that a private part was removed (cut) from a 68-year-old man in OR Tambo District, who is currently in hospital.

“The suspect will later be transferred to Mthatha, where he is expected to face a charge of attempted murder,” Nkohli added.

Lt. Gen. Nomthetheleli Lillian Mene, the provincial commissioner, has commended the neighborhood for helping to catch the suspect.

“This is a despicable and cruel act, and the actions of the suspect is inhumane and justice must take its course,” Meme added.
