Odutola reported that after being brought to a secluded location at Omu Junction, Ofada, the victim was also r@ped by her attackers.
“The victim reported on Monday at about 10:02 AM that while travelling from Lekki in Lagos State to Abeokuta garage in Mowe, she booked an online ride in a Toyota Camry with registration number EKP 352AE,” the PPRO stated.
“She was informed that she had been kidnapped and was asked to call someone to pay a ransom. She called her boyfriend, Akinwale Williams, who transferred N200,000 to an FCMB account belonging to one Awanatu Hamzat Adejoke. A sum of N50,000 cash was taken from her, including an iPhone 13 Pro Max valued at N840,000.”
“Following her report, investigators tracked her stolen phone to one Tunde Ajayi, a male from Oke Sioni Imedu Mowe, who led the detectives to Fagbohun Kayode, a 41-year-old male from Shodeko village Ofada.
“Upon questioning, Kayode admitted to entering the Camry at Deeper Life area and threatening the victim with a broken bottle. He also disclosed that the driver of the Camry is his older brother, Fagbohun Femi, a 43-year-old resident of Akeem Blocks Ofada
“Both men were later arrested and Kayode confessed to the crime.”
The two admitted that they had sold the car that was used to do the crime.
Odutole said that one of the suspects’ unregistered blue Toyota Camries had been found.
“The case will be referred to the SCID Eleweran Abeokuta for further investigation.”
A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
