Power Generation Hits 5713 MegaWatts — TCN

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has revealed that the country’s electricity production reached 5,713.60 megawatts on Tuesday, March 4, marking a significant milestone.

This figure represents the highest output in the past four years.

In a statement, TCN noted that the power industry has attained a new annual peak generation for 2025, which was effectively distributed across the grid.

The statement explained that this achievement was logged on Tuesday, March 4, exceeding the 5,543MW mark set on February 14.

“This was recorded on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 21:30 hours, with the new generation peak of 5,713.60 megawatts (MW), surpassing the previous peak generation of 5,543.20MW achieved on February 14, 2025, by 170.40 MW,” the TCN stated.

The company pointed out that, although this new high is 88MW below the historical maximum peak of 5,801.60MW recorded on March 1, 2021, it is still a commendable accomplishment.

Additionally, it reported that the maximum daily energy output increased to 125,542.06 megawatt-hours, up from the 125,159.48MWh recorded the previous month.

“Furthermore, a new record for the maximum daily energy ever attained in the history of the electricity industry in Nigeria was also set yesterday, with a total of 125,542.06 megawatt-hours (MWh). This surpasses the previous record of 125,159.48MWh achieved on February 14, 2025, by 382.58 MWh,” the statement added.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
