President Zelenskyy Finally Seeks Peace Talks With Putin

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine has asked for negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the two countries’ conflict.

Russian troops entered Ukraine on February 24, after an order from Russian President Vladimir Putin for a “special military operation” in the Donbas region.

Hundreds of people have been displaced as a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which has resulted in losses on both sides.

In the midst of the war, both countries have had talks that have failed to achieve a significant result.

Russia notified Ukraine on March 16 that it was ready to suspend military operations “in a moment” if it met a set of requirements.

Moscow is demanding that Ukraine suspend military activity and change its constitution to enshrine neutrality, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

The Kremlin also stated that any aspirations to join a bloc should be rejected and that Crimea should be recognized as Russian territory, as well as the separatist republics of Donetsk and Lugansk as fully independent states.

In a video posted on Saturday, President Zelenskyy stated that it is past time for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and justice to be restored.

President Zelenskyy said, “We have always insisted on negotiations. We have offered dialogue, offered solutions for peace not just for 23 days of the invasion.

“And I want everyone to hear me now, especially in Moscow. It is time to meet, time to talk. It is time to restore territorial integrity and justice for Ukraine.”
