Prince Harry Surprises Bereaved Children In Spider-Man Costume
Prince Harry of Britain appeared in a surprise video message disguised as Spider-Man to try and console grieving kids.
At the conclusion of a specially recorded message for kids at Scotty’s Little Soldiers, a charity supporting bereaved British forces children and young people, he removed the superhero costume and pulled his mask to reveal his genuine identity.
When his mother Diana, Princess of Wales, passed away in 1997, Harry, then 12 years old, told the kids:
“Christmas is a time when we miss our loved ones badly and that’s OK. But at the same time, it can be possible to feel guilty for having fun without our parents. But I am here to assure you that our parents always want us to have fun, OK? So don’t feel guilty.
“You are allowed to have the best time ever, especially with this Scotty’s Little Soldiers community.
“Go out there, have the best time, and Merry Christmas.”
The film was released the day after a race controversy caused William’s godmother Lady Susan Hussey to resign from her position and cast a cloud on Prince William and Kate’s trip to the US.
She resigned from her position as a royal adviser after repeatedly asking the head of a black domestic abuse charity who was born in the UK where she “truly came from.”
The unveiling of a trailer for Harry and Meghan’s Netflix documentary series on Thursday was seen by some royal critics as a slight towards William and Kate.
The evildoers were stealing and hiding Santa’s gifts, the kids were told, in an effort to destroy Christmas.
They were then given the mission to stop the villains and free the gifts in order to save the big day.
Jamie Small (14), who was eight when his father passed away in 2016, commented on Harry’s video after watching it: “This isn’t just a person from a small village. He’s someone people all over the world know and he has taken the time to record a special message for us, which means a lot.”
