“Professor Do Your Own” – Gov Wike Slams Soludo, Promises To Sponsor Peter Obi’s Campaign In Rivers (Video)

Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has blasted Prof Charles Soludo, the governor of Anambra State, for his recent comments against Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate.

The Rivers State governor referred to his
Anambra State counterpart as a “bad belle”, while criticizing him for trying to discredit another Anambra man rather than backing him to win the 2023 presidential election.

Wike said this at Port Harcourt, the state’s capital, where Mr. Obi was the guest of honour for the inauguration of the Nkpolu-Oroworokwo Flyover.

He said, “I know you worked very well in Anambra (as governor) and you know where you come from, …. bad belle, envy…even me here, there are those in Abuja who are fighting me…. bad belle.

“Some people, because of the level you are now, are envying you in your state. They can come out and say all kinds of rubbish (but) don’t worry (because) that is how it is. It is your own person that will kill you first.

“So, don’t bother about those things. I have always told people that when you are given the opportunity to serve, use it and showcase what you can do, and stop criticizing somebody who has already left. You have been given the opportunity now, show it. I’m a professor, professor well…I’m a doctor, doctor well, I am a lawyer, lawyer well, I am a mechanic, mechanic well.”

Wike also praised Peter Obi, stating that he has all the “characteristics” necessary to lead Nigeria.

The Peoples Democratic Party governor further pledged to back Obi’s presidential aspirations logistically in the state.

He said, “I like the way you are going. Party is a vehicle because there is no independent candidate. If there were (provision for) independent candidates I am sure you would have run as an independent candidate.

“But because there’s no independent candidate in our constitution, you must find a vehicle to sell yourself to Nigerians.

“I know you as a person. You have all the criteria and characteristics to lead this country, nobody can deny that from you. All I pray is for God to give you the strength and wisdom to continue to move from one stage to another.

“Anyday you want to campaign in Rivers State, let me know. All the logistics support, we will give to you.”

The ninth flyover built by the Wike administration in the capital was commissioned by Obi and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed with an enthusiastic group of their followers, well known as “Obidients”, welcoming them.
