Rapper NBA YoungBoy Arrested On Drug And Weapons Charges

NBA YoungBoy, an American rapper who has been under house arrest in Utah due to felony gun accusations, was detained once more, this time on suspicion of possession of a firearm, drugs, and other offences.

The rapper, whose true name is Kentrell Gaulden, was taken into custody by the Cache County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday night and lodged in the county jail.

He faces twenty charges each of forging, identity fraud, obtaining or attempting to obtain drugs or prescription drugs, and possessing a dangerous weapon by a restricted individual, controlled substance possession, and engaging in a pattern of illegal activity.

Gaulden was under house arrest in his Utah ranch and awaiting trial in Baton Rouge. In a federal firearms case, the 24-year-old is being charged with felony gun possession.

In March, a court dismissed another criminal firearms accusation. The basis for his lawsuit is a music video from 2020 that was shot next to a Chippewa Street vacant lot.

Following a tip about someone carrying guns, Baton Rouge police descended upon the film shoot and apprehended Gaulden along with fifteen other individuals. His trial is scheduled to begin on July 15.

In addition, Gaulden faces two counts of attempted first-degree murder related to a drive-by gunshot that occurred on Kentucky Street in November of 2016. Later, one of the accusations was dropped, and the other was downgraded to aggravated assault with a firearm.

Gaulden, who was 17 at the time, was sentenced to three years of active supervised probation and a suspended 10-year prison term in August 2017 for his involvement in the shooting.
