Rashford Is Banned From Driving After He Was Caught Speeding

Marcus Rashford, a Manchester United striker, has been given a six-month driving ban and fined £1,600 after being caught speeding at 104mph on the M60 in his £560,000 Rolls-Royce.

The incident occurred on December 12, less than two months after the actor crashed another expensive Rolls-Royce in an automobile accident.

The England star said he was driving so quickly on the motorway because he was afraid he was being pursued by a white car and was being tailed ‘all the time’.

Manchester Magistrates’ Court heard how Rashford was driving on the M60 near Stockport in the early hours of December 12, 2023, when he rushed passed an undercover cop in an unmarked BMW equipped with calibrated speeding equipment.

DC Maskrey described how he ‘raised his speed’ in an attempt to catch Rashford’s Rolls Royce Cullinan Blue Shadow.

He said that his BMW reached speeds of up to 104 mph, but that he was never able to reduce the gap between the two automobiles. Instead, the distance had risen when Rashford’s car took a’sweeping’ bend.

Rashford ultimately off the motorway onto the A34, but the officer continued to follow his Rolls Royce before activating his emergency lights.

Rashford stopped in the road and informed DC Maskrey he was speeding because he had been pursued by a white vehicle at a traffic light.

He also stated that he believed the officer’s white BMW was the car following him.

The officer urged the gamer to phone 999 if he believed he was being followed.

But Rashford had replied that “it happens all the time and he would be calling us every day.”

DC Maskrey stated that he had not seen any white cars and that after examining video footage from his BMW, he had found no evidence of them.

Rashford, who appeared in court via a CVP link, already pleaded to speeding under a single justice procedure.

District Judge Lucy Hogarth gave him six penalty points, resulting in a six-month ban under the totting up system. He was also fined £1666, a £666 surcharge, and ordered to pay £120 in costs.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
