Real Madrid Confirm €103m Signing Of Jude Bellingham From Dortmund

Midfielder Jude Bellingham’s transfer from Borussia Dortmund to Real Madrid has been officially announced.

The 19-year-old England international signed a six-year contract after Dortmund and Real agreed to a transfer fee of reportedly €103 million.

“Real Madrid CF and Borussia Dortmund have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Jude Bellingham, who will be contracted to our club for the next six seasons,” Real Madrid announced in a short statement.

“Jude Bellingham will be unveiled as a new Real Madrid player tomorrow, Thursday, 15 June, at noon at Real Madrid City.

“Following this, Jude Bellingham will speak to the media.”

One of the most promising young football players in the world is Bellingham. The midfielder, who began his career with Birmingham City, transferred to Dortmund in 2020, where he rapidly became a regular for the Bundesliga team.

He became the youngest English player to start a Champions League match when he took the field against Lazio in October of his rookie campaign, at the age of 17 years and 113 days.

In addition to producing 14 goals throughout all competitions for Dortmund this season, Bellingham, an agile, all-around midfielder, also provided seven assists.

Bellingham has also established himself as a mainstay for the England national team, and he stood out as one of their best players at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

In England’s opening match against Iran, he provided the first goal as part of an outstanding performance that led to a 6-2 triumph.

Following the acquisition of Spanish left-back Fran Garcia from Rayo Vallecano, Bellingham is Real Madrid’s second acquisition of the summer. Brahim Diaz, meantime, has returned from his loan assignment at AC Milan and is anticipated to join the first team squad for the upcoming campaign.

Real’s desire to create for the future is further demonstrated by the signing of one of the most highly regarded young players in the world. With the support of Casemiro, Toni Kroos, and Luka Modric, Real had probably the best midfield of the last generation, which helped the team win four Champions League championships.

Real has signed a man they believe will help them create their next great midfield, with Bellingham joining France internationals Eduardo Camavinga, 20, and 23-year-old Aurelien Tchouameni at Manchester United and Kroos and Modric nearing the end of their careers.

This transfer season, Real are anticipated to make additional important signings, most notably a striker to replace star forward Karim Benzema, who joined Saudi champions Al Ittihad.

Following the revelation that he will not sign a contract extension before his current one expires next summer, Kylian Mbappe—who came very close to signing with Real last summer before settling on a new deal at Paris Saint-Germain—has emerged as a priority target. Harry Kane, a striker for Tottenham, is rumored to be on Real’s radar.
