Ricketts Family Head For London As Struggle For Chelsea’s New Ownership Get Hot

The Ricketts Family, owners of the Chicago Cubs, is heading to London to meet with key Chelsea stakeholders as they wait to learn if they are among the favored bidders for the club.

The Agnesisika Blog previously reported that the Chelsea club authorities had released conditions and requirements expected from parties who have an interest in the team.

The club authorities demanded that interested parties who wish to offer for Chelsea before the deadline should provide a full background report on all investors.

They were also been asked to explain their motivations for bidding for the club as they move forward in the process.

The Raine Group is meeting currently to establish a shortlist of the best-positioned groups to take control of Chelsea as applications from interested parties have been submitted. An announcement is expected soon, and possession of the Premier League club will change hands within a month.

According to Sky Sports, the Ricketts’ trip is intended to meet with key Chelsea stakeholders such as the Chelsea Supporters’ Trust and the Chelsea Pitch Owners.

The Ricketts family is one of several American parties interested in bidding for Chelsea. The Chicago Cubs’ owners are backed by Ken Griffin, a wealthy hedge fund manager who is the most valued person involved in the Chelsea bidding process.

The family is joined in the contest by a group led by Todd Boehly, a part-owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, which represents another American powerhouse in the competition.
