Riders Stuck Mid-Air Upside Down At Pennsylvania Amusement Park (Video)

The video of Aero 360 stuck mid-air while the thrill-seekers stuck upside down mid-air at Pennsylvania’s Kennywood Park has gone viral. The incident took place on May 30.

The ride, Aero 360, does offer a 360-degree over-the-top experience, as the name explains, but on that day as the ride got stuck mid-air, the 360-degree experience became a nightmare for the riders.

Giving no time, the on-duty maintenance staff immediately took the required action to get the ride back to its designated position and evacuate the riders.

The general manager of the amusement park Mark Pauls said that it is still unclear how long the visitors were stuck there.

“At approximately 11.54 am, the Poltergeist coaster stopped in the middle of a ride cycle,” Jeff Filicko, marketing, and communications manager for Fiesta Texas said, issuing a statement. The ride was brought back to its designated position and then with the help of the San Antonio fire department, all 20 persons on the ride were safely removed without causing any injuries.

The official website of the Kennywood Park describes Aero 360, a pendulum-like ride as an intense one. “With legs dangling, riders swing back and forth attached to a yellow symbol—the Kennywood Arrow! The arrows swing higher and higher with each pendulum motion, culminating in a 360-degree over-the-top experience”, the ride description reads.

Alexandra Schneider; a passenger on the ride, shared her experience of being stuck mid-air upside down. “We were like, ‘holy c*** this is actually happening. We are stuck. Hopefully, our harnesses won’t come off,’” she was quoted as saying by Trib Live.

After the rescue operation, the visitors were sent to the first aid center. However, no major issue was reported but the Aero 360 will remain shut till the investigation process is over.

Meanwhile, the amusement park authorities are trying to figure out why the ride stopped mid-air.

Thank God everyone is safe.
