Rihanna Confirmed To Headline Super Bowl Half-Time Show

The next Super Bowl Halftime Show for Super Bowl LVII which is set to take place on February 12th, 2023 at Glendale, Arizona will be headlined by the sensational singer; Rihanna.

The nine-time Grammy winner broke the news by posting on Sunday, a photo of her arm holding a football on social media. Roc Nation, her management company headed by Jay-Z who is also part of organizing the massive NFL halftime showcase, retweeted it soon after.

The NFL later shared the same image on Twitter with the caption “Let’s GO” and the hashtag SBLVII.

“Rihanna is a once-in-a-generation artist who has been a cultural force throughout her career,” said NFL Head of Music Seth Dudowsky in a news release.

The league announced earlier this week that Apple Music had replaced Pepsi as the sponsor of the half-time show.

The previous Super Bowl show headlined by Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and 50 Cent at this year’s NFL championship game at L.A.’s SoFi Stadium, drew more than 120 million viewers and earned three Emmy Awards.

Taylor Swift originally had been offered the headlining half-time slot, but TMZ reported Friday that she declined. That performance just earned an Emmy Award for Outstanding Variety Special (Live).

Past Super Bowl performers include Michael Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Prince, Paul McCartney Madonna, The Weeknd, Shakira;
Maroon 5 with Big Boi and Travis Scott;

Rihanna (34) has sold more than 250 million records worldwide. She has also created the fashion and Fenty fashion and beauty brands. It’s unclear whether Rihanna will perform alone or have other headliners alongside like this past year’s show in L.A.

Congratulations Rihanna!
