Rochas Okorocha’s Brother-In-Law Dumps APC For Labour Party

Engr. Chucks Ololo, the brother-in-law of former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha, has reportedly defected to the Labour Party (LP), from the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The All Progressive Congress governorship candidate for the 2019 general elections announced this at the LP’s state party secretariat in Owerri, Imo State.

The former APC chieftain stated that his decision to defect was to work with the LP to save the country through the vision of the presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.

Ololo, the husband of Okorocha’s younger sister, Ogechi Ololo, said that in addition to ensuring that his over 5000 supporters join the LP, he would work to ensure Peter Obi and the Party’s victory, particularly in the state.

He said, “We have been monitoring what is happening in our beloved nation, Nigeria, and there are some issues that bordered on security and economy. For these, human capital development has gone down.

“A lot of us were witnesses to a time when things were thriving, and we were hoping that things would change, but over time, it got worse and worse. And today, there is no doubt that things are bad, and there is a need for some of us to wake up to reality and look for solutions.

“And I see Labour Party among all the parties as the one that can provide the solution. Only Labour Labour Party has the right candidate with the capacity and credibility to drive Nigeria back on the path of progress.”

He continued, “so I am joining Labour Party today intending to fully support the party in delivering Mr. Peter Obi and other party’s candidates across all levels. I am here to work with the party to salvage our country because I strongly believe that the soul of Nigeria is in the lands of the Labour Party.”

Mr. Ambrose Onyekwere, the state chairman, stated that the party was open to welcoming all hands that could help save the country from impending doom.

He congratulated Ololo on his decision to join the LP and urged him to be guided by the party’s objectives and goals for a better Nigeria, while assuring him that the party would continue to uphold fairness, equity, and justice for all members under his leadership.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
