Roman Abramovich Sends Emotional Farewell Message To Chelsea Fans And Players

Chelsea’s outgoing owner, Roman Abramovich has sent an emotional farewell letter to the fans as he hands over the club to the new owners.

He also congratulated the Premier League club’s players, staff, and fans in the statement.

Due to the UK’s sanctions on Abramovich over Russia’s Assault on Ukraine, the Russian oligarch was forced to sell the club.

With a group led by Todd Boehly reaching an agreement of over a £4.25 billion acquisition, the Russian’s 19-year ownership comes to a close.

Abramovich also wished the new owners success. In a statement, he said, “As I hand over Chelsea to its new custodians, I would like to wish them the best of success, both on and off the pitch.

“It has been an honour of a lifetime to be a part of this club – I would like to thank all the club’s past and current players, staff, and of course fans for these incredible years.

“I am proud that as a result of our joint successes, millions of people will now benefit from the new charitable foundation which is being established. This is the legacy which we have created together.”
