According to The Athletic, Ronaldo will miss Sunday’s 90-minute match owing to a hip flexor issue, something the 37-year-old has previously suffered.

Paul Pogba, who is reportedly close to joining Juventus, will not play as the Frenchman concludes his frustrating six-year stay at Old Trafford.

Ronaldo’s absence is a significant blow to Rangnick and his side in qualifying for the Europa League next season, as they have to win their game, having West Ham one point behind them.

Ronaldo has one year left on his United contract, and despite reports that he is considering leaving, new manager Erik ten Hag has stated that he ‘can’t wait’ to work with the Portugal star.
