Russian Artist Reveals Mystery Portrait Gifted By Putin To Trump

In March, Vladimir Putin gifted Donald Trump a previously undisclosed portrait of the former president, delivered through Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff, according to recent revelations.

At the time, it was described as “a beautiful portrait” by a “leading Russian artist,” though the artwork itself remained unseen until today, April 22.

Nikas Safronov, one of Russia’s most renowned portraitists, provided CNN with an exclusive glimpse of the Kremlin-commissioned piece.

The striking oil painting portrays Trump on stage at his July 2024 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania—bloodied yet resolute, with his fist raised in a gesture of unity following an assassination attempt.

“I wanted to capture the blood, the scar and his bravery,” Safronov stated. “He didn’t break down or shrink back; he raised his arm to show he is one with America and will bring back what it deserves.”

Safronov, known for painting numerous global figures—from Pope Francis to Narendra Modi and Kim Jong Un—revealed that he was initially contacted by unidentified individuals requesting a Trump portrait.

He believed they were acting on behalf of the Kremlin and decided to forgo his fee upon understanding the diplomatic significance of the gesture.

Subsequently, Putin confirmed that the artwork was intended to foster improved relations between Russia and the United States.

The portrait now adorns the White House’s Grand Foyer, taking the place of the official Barack Obama portrait.

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.

Today's Quote

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
