Actress Ruth Kadiri has voiced concern about Nigeria’s growing cost of living, characterizing the country’s current financial predicament as overwhelming and emotionally taxing for many residents.
The actress acknowledged in a video that she is not usually one to gripe, but that the harsh reality that everyday Nigerians face has deeply troubled her in recent times.
Ruth Kadiri said:
“Good morning Nigerians, as a human being I’m not one that is known for complaining but you see this past couple of days has been so troubling for me because if somebody like me can start to feel the brunt of the heaviness of being a human being is I wonder what other people are going through cost of tomatoes is now so hard like somebody will use five thousand buy pepper tomato like five thousand while somebody else out there is probably earning 25 30 40 50k but you are only using five thousand to buy tomato and pepper basket of tomato we don’t even want to say that…”
“The cost of feeding which is basic in Nigeria is now so high… I don’t know if they want us to turn against ourselves because people that are not sensitive will start looking at ourselves as the enemies. Poverty what poverty does to people’s mind is like cancer to the mind to the brain it eats it away.”
It’s truly frustrating to see how many people are suffering every day because of these challenges. The burden of the rising cost of living affects us all, making life increasingly difficult. I sincerely hope that better days are ahead and that we find strength and resilience to get through these tough times. May God help us all.
