School Proprietress Allegedly M8rdered By Her Son In Delta

Emmanuel Umukoro, the 25-year-old son of Mrs. Fatima Umukoro, the proprietress of His Majesty Group of Schools in Sapele, Delta State, is accused of murdering her.

Punch reports that on Saturday night, September 8, 2024, a horrible incident took place.

The dead was the spouse of a well-known person in Sapele, Rev. Prince Umukoro, the resident pastor of Victory Family Assembly Int’l (VIFA).

According to information obtained, Emmanuel had reportedly been struggling with mental health problems made worse by possible substance misuse.

His drug addiction did not go away even after he entered treatment, which resulted in further unexpected violent outbursts.

According to the son’s neighbors, the police apprehended him along Sapele-Warri Road as he made an attempt to flee to an unidentified location due to his unusual movements.

On Sunday, September 9, SP Bright Edafe, the State Police Command spokeswoman, verified the event.

“Only to discover fire coming from inside the house with the door left open. Upon entering the house, they found the lifeless body of Mrs. Umukoro, burnt beyond recognition,” the witness said.

“We saw her son, Emmanuel Umukoro driving out of the compound around 8:30 pm at a high speed in his mother’s car.”

The gate of the Umukoro residence was left open at around 10 pm, which prompted neighbors and passersby to check on the situation.

Some of the neighbors who spoke to the publication stated the suspect chopped his mother to death with an axe and burned her body ablaze.

“The son is in police custody now but cannot say whether he’s the one that killed her until investigation is concluded.”

A Gentle Reminder: Every obstacle is a stepping stone, every morning; a chance to go again, and those little steps take you closer to your dream.
