Seek Wisdom

In today’s Gospel,Jesus said if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain: ‘move’ and it will obey you. (Luke 17:6; Matthew 17:20) Every believer understands that to know God is the highest and best form of knowledge; and this spiritual knowledge is a source of power and strength to the Christian. It strengthens his faith. It gives him the power to overcome barriers.

Faith is also being expressed in Christian Maturity, how we understand faith in our younger days, we understand faith now in much deeper ways. To say that we believe in God might be quite easy, as in our faith in God is solely confined to feelings but now we know that our love for God must be experienced in love for others, & that can be difficult.

Faith also strengthens hope. How can we hope for a thing if we do not know of its existence? Hope may be the telescope, but till we receive instruction, our ignorance stands in the front of the glass, and we can see nothing whatever; faith and knowledge removes the interposing object, and when we look through the bright optic glass we discern the glory to be revealed, and anticipate it with joyous confidence.

Every day, we need God’s wisdom, just as we need His protection. The first reading is the beginning of the book of Wisdom. Wisdom is something everyone wants feels they have yet few truly embrace it. Like faith, hope, and love, wisdom is a word that we causally throw around freely, assuming we know what it means and how to achieve it.

Wisdom is a spirit and a friend. After all, Proverbs 4:7 tells us that “wisdom is the principal thing,” and in all our getting, we need to get wisdom.Lord may we gain wisdom of heart. The Bible tells us that Christ has become for us wisdom from God (1 Cor. 1:30). So what we really need is the Lord Jesus

Christ himself is Wisdom, for in Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge and He is the center of all wisdom not only the essential wisdom but the eternal Word by whom God speaks to us.

Let us therefore aspire for excellence, Yearn for wisdom and strive for goodness.

May the Lord lead us in the path of life eternal. Amen
