Several Children Stabbed Outside School In Dublin City Centre

At least three children are believed to have been stabbed in the north inner city of Dublin, near a girls’ school.

Images from the incident on Parnell Square East in the Irish capital’s north show a frenzy of ambulances and police cars.

According to the Irish Independent, two kids have been sent to the hospital.

A statement from the Garda Síochána, Ireland’s police force, said: “An Garda Síochána are currently at the scene of a serious incident on Parnell Square East and are being assisted other emergency services.”

Later, the Irish police stated that one young girl had significant injuries, two others suffered less serious injuries, and a man and woman were also injured.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Five casualties have been taken to various hospitals in the Dublin region.

“The casualties include an adult male, an adult female and three young children.

“One child, a girl, has sustained serious injuries, the other two children are being treated for less serious injuries.

“An Garda Siochana is in contact with parents of all three injured children.”

According to the Irish Times, the local school is Gaelscoil Coláiste Mhuire, and children were leaving the building at the time of the event around 1.40pm.

According to the publication, at least a child has suffered serious injuries, while RTÉ News reports that at least three children have been brought to the hospital.

According to early witness statements, passersby interfered when the alleged assailant struck the group outside a school, according to the Irish Times.

The alleged knife attack is thought to have occurred near the Garden of Remembrance, opposite the Rotunda hospital in the square’s centre. According to RTÉ News, there is a Gaelscoil (an Irish-speaking school) in the region.

According to the Irish Independent, a suspect has been apprehended. According to reports, the man, who has yet to be recognised, was treated at the site for injuries.
