Sensational Musician; Shakira has canceled her Lima show after being brought to the hospital due to an intestinal ailment.
According to a statement the Colombian superstar posted on Sunday afternoon on her Instagram and X pages, she is presently in the hospital and was told by physicians that she is not well enough to perform.
“I am very sad that I will not be able to take the stage today. I have been deeply emotional and excited about reuniting with my beloved Peruvian audience,” she remarked.
The singer who claimed that she placed her “career on hold” to spend more time with her ex-boyfriend Gerard Pique while he pursued his football career, was supposed to perform on Sunday and Monday in Peru, and she arrived there on Friday night. She spent two nights in Brazil last week before traveling to the nation for the second leg of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour in Latin America.
Shakira has been warmly received by Latin fans, who have gathered in large numbers at airports to welcome her.
“Thank you, Lima, for such a heartfelt welcome!” she wrote on Instagram on Saturday.
Shakira expressed her desire for a speedy recovery in her statement. “I want to put on this show as quickly as I can. A new date is already being worked out by my team and the promoter,” she stated.
The singer is currently on tour to promote her most recent album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, in which she uses music to cope with her well-publicized divorce.
The album, which won Best Latin Pop Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards earlier this month, features the worldwide smash Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53.
Shakira’s tour is still going strong throughout Latin America. She will be traveling to Canada and the US in May for a run of shows that will go on until June.
