In order to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 21st Extraordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU), Vise President Senator Kashim Shettima left Abuja for Luanda, Angola.
The important tactics for resolving disputes and promoting enduring peace and stability throughout the African continent will be the main topics of discussion at the high-level summit.
Senator Shettima will meet with African leaders and other important stakeholders in the capital of Angola to discuss workable solutions to regional security issues and bolster joint efforts toward conflict prevention and resolution, according to a statement from his spokesperson, Stanley Nkwocha.
Nigeria is anticipated to contribute to discussions on bolstering continental mechanisms for averting conflicts, settling disputes, and maintaining peace. Nigeria has continued to play a strategic role in peacebuilding and conflict resolution throughout Africa and beyond.
President Tinubu’s speech at the summit will be given by the Vise President, who will be accompanied by senior defense and security officials. The speech will outline Nigeria’s stance on the issues at hand and reiterate the nation’s commitment to peace and stability throughout the continent.
We wish Vice President Shettima a safe and successful journey to Angola. May divine guidance and protection accompany him throughout his trip. We also pray for a fruitful and impactful AU summit, trusting that his participation will bring positive outcomes for Nigeria and Africa as a whole. Safe travels and a rewarding summit!
